I picked the city Lloydminster. Lloydminster is different from Toronto because Lloydminster is in Alberta and and Toronto is in Ontario and it's different from Toronto because Lloydminster is a smaller city than Toronto. The two cities are similar because both cities have a mayor and both cities have an airport and they both have a 2010-2011 Waste Collection and Recycle Pickup Calendar. It's also similar because they have bylaws (which means there is government involved) and they have a City Hall plus they have winter road clearance and a map of the city. Eric 5:)
I picked the city Sault Ste Marie (it's in Ontario). Sault Ste Marie is similar to Toronto because both cities have a mayor and both cities have a transit system. Sault Ste Marie is different from Toronto because the city Sault Ste Marie is smaller than Toronto and they don't have Canada's Wonderland. It's also different because Sault Ste Marie is practicly right on top of the border that divides Canada from the USA, but Sault Ste Marie is on the Canadian side. Eric 5:)
I chose Timmins. It's different because they rely on mining sites and forestry to get money. but we rely on different jobs. It's similar to Toronto because they are both cites.Nikolai;)
I chose the city of Ottawa because I've been there a couple of times. Both Ottawa and Toronto are Canadian cities in Ontario. Ottawa is special because it is the capital of Canada. Prime Minister Stephen Harper lives there. In Ottawa I heard more French than in Toronto. Toronto is a bigger city than Ottawa - 2.5 million people live in Toronto and Ottawa has about 900,000 people. Declan
i picked kingston.what i think is similar about kingston and toronto is that the transportation. what is differnt about kingston and toronto is the population. AZARA$$$:)
i picked vaughan because canadas wonderland and ontario place are both amusment parks. the differntces are that toronto has a very tall building called the cn tower.
i picked hamilton. the things that are similar is that hamilton has parks and toronto also has parks. the differnces are that toronto has an amusment park but hamilton doesnot.azara
The city I chose was Vancouver. Some differences are that Vancouver is in the west coast and Toronto is in the central part of Canada, another is that Vancouver hosted the olympics and Toronto didn't. Toronto has a larger population. Some similarities are that Toronto and Vancouver are close to water. Toronto beside lake Ontario and Vancouver is beside the pacific ocean. Both are big cities with lots to do. They both have hockey teams in the NHL. neal :)$$
I chose Whitehorse because friends of my dad live there. Similarities for Toronto and Whitehorse are that they are both the capial cities of their province, tourism is an important industry and they have many historical sites. Some differences are that Whitehorse is a small city of 25,000 people and Toronto is a very large city. Whitehorse is in the land of the midnight sun where in July they get 20 hours of sunlight each day and Toronto is more normal. Whitehorse is located in the far north and Toronto more central. This means that in the winter Whitehorse can be way colder than Toronto.
I chose Collingwood Ontario as another city. I have been to Collingwood a bunch of times to go skiing with my friend. One big difference is that they have way more snow for skiing and they have bigger ski hills than Toronto. Collingwood is also about 2 hours further north than Toronto. Both cities used to have a lot of shipping and boat businesses in the early days. Collingwood used to build boats and Toronto was where boats would bring supplies to the Toronto harbour. Toronto is a much bigger city than Collingwood. Toronto has subways, big art galleries and museums and Collingwood has no subways just buses. Collingwood has some small galleries and local museums. Collingwood is a tourist town and Toronto is more business town.Neal;)
I chose the city of peterborough. Something different about peterborough from toronto is that peterborough has a population of 116 570 where as toronto has millions. Another difference is that peterborough's main industries are manufacturing, food processing, automotive supplies, electronics, aerospace, and life sciences where as toronto's main industry is banking. A similarity is that peterborough has a mayor just like toronto. Jackson:)
I chose Jamaica because I have there a couple of time and I thought it was nice. Toronto and Jamaica similar beacuse they both get really hot at time. And they are different beacause residents of toronto are called torontonians and residents of jamaica are called jamaicans shamar
